My Favorite Days!

This is my favorite time of the year. It’s not just celebrating the true meaning of the Christmas Season that I love. It’s not the month of December and the hustle and bustle of this time of year. It’s not the presents or the family and friends that will join us for this special time. It’s also something more specific. It’s this one day of the year that I love – Yes, I love today! December 26.

Why do I love today?

AN INCREDIBLE TIME

I want to share a quote from New York Times best-selling author, Bob Mayer. In a recent blog, he said, “It’s an exciting time to be an author.”

The minute I read this, a smile brightened my face. Yes, Bob, it’s a very exciting time to be an author! I’m enjoying every minute of it!

But change is not happening only in the world of publishing. Things are happening in almost every area of our daily lives. I compare myself to a person living when electricity replaced candles and gas lanterns. When automobiles replaced the horse and carriage. When trains replaced coaches. Or planes replaced trains.

Do you notice anything about the changes I just listed? They were changes for the BETTER! They improved our way of life. They made life easier, travel faster, life more convenient. They were improvements from how we’d existed before. And since I prefer to consider the glass half full instead of half empty, I consider the changes that are happening in the publishing world today, changes for the better, too.

Last week during our writing challenge, one of our members sent an inspirational quote each day along with her daily check-in request. I looked forward to getting her emails, not only to post my accomplishment, but also to read the quote she sent with them. I loved them, and almost every day I experienced one of those “ahh” moments that don’t come along often enough.
